On Sunday, August 9th (July 27th old style), we celebrated the 45th anniversary of the Glorification of St. Herman of Alaska, one of three feasts dedicated to St. Herman each year. This year we were blessed to have Hieromonk Innocent, Superior of the nearby Monastery of St. John in Manton, together with five other brothers […]
We have been praying for rain here in California, which is now in its fourth year of record-breaking drought. In the evening of June 25/July 8, as we were celebrating the eve of the Feast of the Tikhvin Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, storm clouds that had been gathering began to send […]

Seraphim’s grave, and at the garden area below the grave, which he have named “St. Herman’s Field,” after St. Herman’s Field (Germanovo Polye) at Valaam Monastery in Russia, where St. Herman lived before coming to America. Kiots are frames (usually wooden) in which icons are placed for […]

Photos of the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of Pentecost, the processions to and from trapeza, and Pentecost Vespers, with the Kneeling Prayers calling down the Holy Spirit. Among the pilgrims were Archimandrite Ignate of the Monastery of St. David the Builder, and Archimandrite Ekvtime of Karsani Monastery, both from the Republic of Georgia.
These new icons of the Meeting of the Lord and of St. Herman of Alaska were painted in our icon studio. They will soon be placed in kiots on our monastery grounds.
Photos taken in the evening and at night. Before Thy Cross we bow down, O Master, and Thy holy Resurrection we glorify!
New photographs of springtime at the monastery, including sunset shots and photos of much-needed spring rain.
Here are some recent photos of flowers and other plants at our monastery in springtime array.

The handpainted image covers the entire board, and the faces of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Most Holy Mother are shown from behind […]
