On Bright Thursday, April 16, 2015, our monastery was visited by His Grace Bishop Iov of Kashira, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in Canada. Vladika visited with his deacon, Fr. Andrew, and Russian pilgrims from San Francisco.
At trapeza, Vladika told of how he had wanted to visit the monastery for many years. He had read the writings of Fr. Seraphim (Rose) in Russian translation while still a boy in the Ukraine, and while Fr. Seraphim was still alive. So, he said, he felt like a “student” of Fr. Seraphim.
His Grace is from the Ukraine, and is named after St. Job of Pochaev (+1651), a great defender of the Orthodox Faith through the printed word. Vladika’s visit was an inspiration to the monastery brotherhood.
